Stone Soup

stone-soupLet me tell you a story that I learned in my 2nd day at ColoredCow. There were 3 soldiers who went to a village in search of food. Villager sees the soldiers, were terrified and were unwilling to share food with them. So one of the soldiers starts boiling some water and put some stones in it. Seeing this, one of the curious villagers asks them what were they doing. The soldier told that they were making stone soup which tastes wonderful, although it still needs a little bit of garnish to improve the flavor, which they were missing. The villager does not mind parting with a few carrots to help them out, so that gets added to the soup. Similarly, another villager asked what were they doing, so they told the villager same thing, that they were making stone soup which tastes wonderful, although it still needs some onions to improve the taste. Again the villager does not mind, providing some onions. Similarly, many villagers passed by asking the same question and soldiers keeping on providing the same answer, and at last when soldiers had all the ingredients, they removed the stones and finally soup was ready.

Now the story end, here comes the moral of the story. The stone soup story tells how villagers were unwilling to share food at first. This can be compared with a potential client that hesitates to invest at first. So make villagers/client to share food or say invest, curiosity should be generated which will then result in investment.

When the soldiers started putting stones in cooking pot, they do not think that they will collect all ingredients and make best soup. They started small, added small parts to it and made it big. Similarly, we should tackle any problem by dividing it into smaller parts which will be easier to solve.

  2. Awesome blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there
that I’m totally confused .. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your
blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to
everything. Do you have any suggestions for inexperienced blog writers?
    I’d really appreciate it.
